Bitcoin's 21% Slump: Is It Still Worth Holding Forever?
Bitcoin has experienced a significant drop in value over the past month, shedding about 21% of its worth. This decline has led to speculation that the cryptocurrency may no longer be worth investing in, with some arguing that it is dead.
However, proponents of Bitcoin argue that this downturn is a short-term phenomenon and that the coin's underlying value remains intact. They point out that the selling pressure on Bitcoin is largely driven by exchange-traded fund (ETF) capital exiting the market, as well as sentiment-driven demand weakness.
The supply of Bitcoin is still capped at 21 million BTC, and its scarcity will continue to drive price movements over quarters and years, rather than months. Therefore, it is argued that buying and holding Bitcoin forever remains a viable investment strategy, provided one is patient.
