US Targets Pix, Chile Cracks Down on Crypto Laundering, and Brazil's Green Mining Initiative

The US Trade Representative's office has launched an investigation into Brazil's Pix instant payment system, citing concerns that it restricts American commerce. The report claims that Pix imposes costs on US services providers and forces them to promote their Brazilian competitor without compensation.

Chilean authorities have made a significant breakthrough in the fight against crypto laundering, dismantling a major ring linked to the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua cartel. The operation resulted in the arrest of 18 individuals and the seizure of over $88 million in illicit funds, which were laundered through cryptocurrency transactions.

In a separate development, Brazilian agricultural company Adecoagro is set to launch a new project that combines its sugarcane crops with bitcoin mining. The company plans to power a data center using energy from sugarcane, which will be used for bitcoin mining operations.
