Bitwise and Alfakraft Unite to Bring Crypto Products to the Nordic Market
Bitwise Asset Management has formed a strategic partnership with Swedish fund manager Alfakraft Fonder AB. This alliance combines Alfakraft's European fund infrastructure with Bitwise's expertise in crypto investment products.
The collaboration does not mark Bitwise's first foray into the Nordic market, as it already offers seven crypto ETPs on Nasdaq Stockholm. These products are linked to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, among others, and trade in Swedish kronor through conventional securities accounts.
Alfakraft Fonder operates in Sweden and Luxembourg, and its partnership with Bitwise is part of its 2026 growth strategy. The company has a history dating back to 1998, when it was founded by Bengt Lindblad for electricity trading. It later expanded into other asset classes and established a subsidiary in Luxembourg in 2024.
The regulatory and tax treatment of the partnership's future products will depend on their investment structure. The applicable European rules may include MiCA, but crypto-assets classified as financial instruments are excluded from it and remain subject to existing securities and fund rules.
