Cardano Sees 15,000 Farms Registered on Blockchain Network
Project Swaminathan, a digital agriculture initiative launched by Syngenta Foundation India, Agri-Entrepreneur Growth Foundation, and HashPoint Consulting, has made significant progress in its 1.5-year lifespan.
The project combines blockchain technology with AI-powered tools, satellite imagery, and real-time data to support crop-specific advisories, traceability, lower cultivation costs, and better risk management for smallholder farmers.
With the recent addition of 15,000 registered farms on the Cardano network, Project Swaminathan has become one of the most prominent examples of blockchain adoption in the agricultural sector outside of DeFi, trading, and payments.
The project's success is not just about registration numbers, but also about creating a shared record that can support credit, crop insurance, traceability, compliance, and market access for farmers.
