Coinbase Shares Plunge Amid Crypto Market Sell-Off
Coinbase shares fell sharply on Monday due to investor concerns over softer crypto-activity and potential margin pressure ahead of its upcoming first-quarter earnings report.
The decline coincided with a broader pullback in the crypto market, as Bitcoin and other major tokens retreated from recent highs. This has led to a sell-off across crypto-exposed stocks, including Coinbase Global, which slipped 7% in Monday's session.
Analysts have downgraded Coinbase's stock and revised their earnings estimates downwards for the period, citing weak trading volumes and potential margin pressure. The decline also came as a result of a renewed wave of Bitcoin selling, with prices falling around 4.4% to $86,429.
