UK Crypto Advocates Launch Campaign Against Bank Transfer Restrictions

The ongoing debate over cryptocurrency regulations has taken another turn with the launch of a campaign by Stand With Crypto, a UK-based advocacy group.

The group, which boasts 286,000 members, is urging banks to reconsider their restrictions on transfers to cryptocurrency exchanges. According to a report by the UK Cryptoassets Business Council, these restrictions affect 40% of crypto transactions in the UK.

Stand With Crypto argues that many of these restrictions apply to exchanges registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and do not take into account individual customer risk profiles. The group claims that this has resulted in billions of pounds' worth of declined transactions, with one exchange reportedly seeing nearly 1 billion British pounds in declines over a one-year period.
