Tether Revives USDT on Bitcoin via RGB Protocol

Tether is reviving its USDT stablecoin on Bitcoin through RGB protocol v0.11.1, bringing back the largest stablecoin to where it first launched over a decade ago.

The company announced plans to issue USD₮ natively on Bitcoin, leveraging RGB's latest release that allows private and scalable transfers while maintaining user control.

Rollover is expected within weeks, led by software lab UTEXO for commercial issuance and distribution. Tether Wallet and crypto exchange integrations are set to support the launch.

Tether faced pressure in Europe as Revolut plans to delist USDT for EU users by August 31 due to Tether's lack of required MiCA authorization, according to KuCoin.
