Arbitrum Becomes Top Destination for Stablecoins in DeFi
The Ethereum Layer 2 network Arbitrum has quietly become an important destination for stablecoin holders in DeFi, hosting between $3.7 billion and $4 billion in stablecoin supply.
Spark Savings, a yield-bearing vault provider, has expanded its ERC-4626 vaults on Arbitrum to support USDC, USDS, and the recently added USDT0, an omnichain version of Tether.
This move allows roughly $3 billion or more in stablecoins to be deposited into yield-generating vaults without users needing to swap tokens or navigate convoluted bridging processes.
The Spark Savings Vaults V2 use a continuous per-second rate accumulator, meaning there's no batch processing or epoch-based distribution. Yield grows continuously, and rates are adjusted based on governance decisions.
