Telegram founder Pavel Durov has announced that the native token of the TON blockchain will be rebranded as 'Gram', marking a significant shift in the project's direction.
The rebranding is part of the 'Make TON Great Again' plan, which aims to revitalize the ecosystem and align it with Telegram's messaging platform. According to Durov, the move is intended to return to the project's original vision, as outlined in the first whitepaper.
The TON blockchain will retain its current name, while the native token will be renamed to 'Gram'. The transition is expected to complete within three weeks, during which wallets, infrastructure providers, and ecosystem applications will update the token name.
