Crypto Market Capitalization Falls 12.6% in Q2
The cryptocurrency market suffered a significant decline in Q2 2026, with its total capitalization dropping by 12.6% to reach $2.1 trillion. This marks the lowest level since September 2024.
Bitcoin and Ethereum underperformed other risk assets, falling by 14.2% and 25.4%, respectively. In contrast, traditional tech stocks saw gains due to growing interest in AI.
The downturn was attributed to a combination of factors, including a hawkish Federal Reserve, geopolitical tensions, outflows from crypto ETFs, and notable Bitcoin sales.
