Kenya Sees Launch of Tando Mobile Payments Platform

Tando, a new mobile payment platform, has been introduced in Kenya, aiming to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and traditional finance. This innovative service allows international users to transfer Bitcoin to recipients in Kenya using only their phone numbers.

The Tando platform leverages the Lightning Network's capabilities for rapid transaction processing with minimal fees. Recipients receive their funds converted into Kenyan shillings through established mobile money platforms like M-PESA.

Tando's approach eliminates obstacles typically associated with cryptocurrency transactions, such as managing seed phrases and memorizing wallet addresses. The platform positions itself as a payment distribution solution rather than a cryptocurrency exchange.
