Texas Brothers Guilty of Kidnapping, Stealing $8 Million in Cryptocurrency

Two Texas brothers have pleaded guilty to kidnapping and robbing a Minnesota family at gunpoint, stealing over $8 million in cryptocurrency. Isiah Angelo Garcia, 25, and Raymond Christian Garcia, 24, both of Waller, Texas, entered their pleas on June 18 before U.S. District Judge Ann D. Montgomery in Minneapolis.

The brothers, who traveled from Texas to Minnesota specifically for the scheme, kidnapped a victim and his family at gunpoint at their home in Grant, Minn., on September 19, 2025. They demanded access to the victim's cryptocurrency accounts, zip-tied him and his family members, and held them hostage for more than eight hours.

The brothers eventually forced the victim to transfer over $8 million in cryptocurrency from various storage devices. The victim's son called 911, and the Garcias fled. Law enforcement responded to the home and found items left behind by the defendants, which were used to identify and locate them near Houston, Texas.
