Kraken Prepares for Public Debut with Deutsche Boerse Investment
Kraken, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has taken a significant step towards becoming a publicly traded company. The firm has confidentially filed for an initial public offering (IPO) with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
The announcement was made as Deutsche Boerse AG invested 200 million dollars in Kraken's parent company, Payward Inc., valuing the exchange at approximately 13.3 billion dollars. This investment represents a 1.5 percent fully diluted ownership stake in Kraken.
The partnership between Kraken and Deutsche Boerse aims to expand cooperation in regulated crypto markets, tokenized assets, and derivatives. The move is seen as a sign of maturation in the digital asset infrastructure as traditional financial institutions deepen their involvement in the sector.
