Aave Protocol Faces Criticism Following KelpDAO Hack
A recent cyberattack on KelpDAO's LayerZero bridge exploited $292 million worth of cryptocurrency, leading to an unprecedented influx of withdrawals from the Aave protocol. Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave, attributed the incident to third-party vulnerabilities rather than any fault within the protocol itself.
Data suggests that the hack triggered a chain reaction, causing over $8.45 billion in withdrawals within 48 hours. This sudden outflow of funds has left many questioning the resilience of DeFi lending protocols like Aave.
