Former Shinhan Card Executive Achieves Lifelong Goal through Bitcoin Investments
Han Jeong-su, CEO of Yeondo Company, has stepped down from his role at Shinhan Card after achieving remarkable success through his investments in Bitcoin. The 35-year-old entrepreneur joined Shinhan Card immediately after completing his military service and began investing during his freshman year at Korea University's Business School.
Han's investment journey was marked by a significant turning point in 2018, when he re-evaluated his priorities and recognized the potential of investing to change his life. He started reading extensively and studying various financial instruments, including stocks and cryptocurrencies.
The CEO began buying Bitcoin from 2018, convinced that it would continue to grow in value. Although he experienced a significant drop in returns over two years, Han saw an opportunity during the COVID-19 pandemic and made bold bets on cryptocurrency. His predictions have been vindicated as the value of his investments has surged.
Han emphasized the importance of decentralization in Bitcoin's inherent value, allowing individuals to store and transfer assets without relying on central authorities. He also highlighted the advantages of Bitcoin over traditional assets like gold, which is subject to counterfeiting risks and incurs storage costs.
