YGG Play Summit 2025 Shines Light on Web3 Gaming and Creator Development
The YGG Play Summit 2025 was a significant event in the world of web3 gaming, held in Manila from March to April. The summit attracted over 5,600 attendees, who engaged with panels, tournaments, and workshops focused on creator development and community engagement.
One of the key highlights of the summit was the emphasis on creators as the driving force behind web3 gaming's growth. With the rise of creator-driven advertising reaching $37 billion in 2025, it's clear that creators play a crucial role in promoting web3 games to mainstream audiences.
The summit also featured the GAM3 Awards, which recognized excellence in web3 game development. Winners included Cagyjan, co-founder of Silly Kitties IP and an early Axie Infinity creator, who took home the Creator of the Year award. Gunzilla Games' Off The Grid won five categories, including Game of the Year.
Metaversity, a key component of the summit, provided workshops and courses focused on web3 and AI skills development. This reflects the growing need for creators, students, and builders to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies. With over 100 emerging creators signing up for training through Metaversity, it's clear that education is a top priority in the web3 gaming industry.
