Florida Senator Leads Crypto Panel Discussion on Banning CBDCs and Innovation

Senator Rick Scott and House Majority Whip Tom Emmer joined forces in a panel discussion on the future of American cryptocurrency, hosted by the Solana Policy Institute in Miami.

The conversation centered around two key topics: legislation to ban Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and the intersection of national security and cryptocurrency. Senator Scott expressed his strong stance against CBDCs, stating that governments cannot be trusted with digital currency, as they will use it to target individuals.

The Clarity Act was also discussed, with Senator Scott arguing that allowing competition in the market will drive innovation and bring technological advancements back to the United States. He emphasized the need for government to get out of the way and allow businesses to thrive without unnecessary regulations.
