Using AI analysis, the article matches writing patterns between Satoshi Nakamoto's posts on cryptography listservs from 1992 to 2008 and other posters, including Adam Back. Back is a British cryptographer who invented Hashcash and currently runs Blockstream, a company that builds infrastructure for blockchain-based payments.

The AI tool looked at characteristics such as sentence structure, punctuation habits, and the use of hyphens in compound nouns. Satoshi was found to skip hyphens occasionally and confuse 'its' with 'it's', which are patterns also present in Back's writing style.
