BitMine Suffers Massive Loss Due to Ethereum Volatility
BitMine, a leading corporate holder of Ethereum, has reported a significant loss in its quarterly results. According to reports, the company's net loss for the quarter ended February 28, 2026, was $3.82 billion. This figure is a sharp jump from the $1.15 million loss reported in the same period a year earlier.
The majority of the damage came from unrealized losses tied to the changing value of its crypto assets. BitMine holds approximately 4.87 million ETH in its treasury, valued at roughly $10.7 billion as of mid-April. The company has not slowed its buying despite the losses, continuing to add to its holdings.
The company's staking ventures generated most of its revenue, with around $10 million coming from Ethereum staking rewards. This represents a significant growth compared to the previous year. Despite the market downturn, BitMine is finding ways to generate income from its assets.
