NHN KCP Launches Blockchain-Based Stablecoin Payments Pilot

NHN KCP has embarked on an ambitious project to explore the potential of blockchain-based stablecoin payments. In collaboration with Avalanche, a leading global blockchain platform, the company aims to develop a payments-focused mainnet that will integrate with PAYCO's easy-pay service.

The pilot program will test the use of stablecoins in online and offline payment environments. In the online segment, users will be able to buy and sell PAYCO gift certificates using stablecoins within the PAYCO app. Offline, food and beverage outlets inside NHN KCP's headquarters will also participate in the trial.

The pilot is expected to provide valuable insights into the scalability of stablecoins in real-world payment scenarios. The results will be shared with financial institutions and major merchants, paving the way for discussions on commercialization.
