UFC Pockets Crypto Payments from White House Event Sponsor

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced that it will pay bonuses to fighters in a form of cryptocurrency issued by World Liberty Financial, a venture co-founded by Donald Trump and his sons. The bonuses will be paid in 'USD1' stablecoins, which are pegged to the US dollar.

The event is scheduled for June 14 on the White House lawn, coinciding with Donald Trump's birthday. UFC said some fighters will receive a $250,000 Performance of the Night bonus pool payment in USD1. World Liberty Financial was listed as an official sponsor of the event and has emerged as one of the highest-profile businesses connected to the president's family.

World Liberty Financial's role in the festivities emerged only this week, with the company announcing it was an official sponsor on June 10 via x.com. The UFC initially announced that fighters would receive bonuses in CRO cryptocurrency, but later revealed they would be paid in USD1.
