Trump Signs Framework Agreement with Iran, Crypto Markets React
US President Donald Trump announced that the new framework agreement with Iran ensures Tehran will not develop, purchase, or acquire a nuclear weapon. This deal is set to be formally signed on June 19, 2026, and represents a significant shift from years of escalating tensions.
The framework agreement goes beyond nuclear restrictions, including provisions to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, through which roughly a fifth of the world's oil supply passes. In exchange for sanctions relief, Iran would need to comply with the terms laid out in the agreement.
Crypto markets responded quickly to the news, with Bitcoin pushing above $65,000 as traders priced in reduced geopolitical risk. Ethereum and Solana also posted gains in the broader rally.
