PancakeSwap Liquidity Pool Falls to Flash Loan Attack
A liquidity pool on the BNB Chain's PancakeSwap has fallen victim to a flash loan attack, resulting in significant losses. According to PeckShield monitoring, the OLPC/LABUBU liquidity pool was exploited on June 20th.
The attacker borrowed funds using a flash loan and transferred them to the Ethereum network, depositing 633.4 ETH into Tornado Cash. This is not an isolated incident; it's part of a larger trend in DeFi exploits. The stolen funds also included 0.0221 BNB and 0.0411 ETH sent to a blackhole address.
The losses amount to approximately $1.1 million, a substantial sum for the crypto community. This attack serves as a reminder of the risks involved in decentralized finance and highlights the need for enhanced security measures.
