Kraken Parent Seeks OCC National Trust Charter
Kraken's parent company has filed an application with the Office of Comptroller Currency (OCC) to establish a national trust charter.
The move could potentially pave the way for Kraken and other cryptocurrency exchanges to operate federally-regulated banks in the United States, similar to Ripple and Coinbase.
The charter would allow Kraken's parent company to offer banking services to its customers, further expanding its reach and influence in the cryptocurrency market.
