HIVE Embarks on Strategic Transformation into AI-Powered Computing

HIVE, a leading cryptocurrency miner, has made significant strides in transforming its business model to include artificial intelligence (AI) operations. According to recent reports, the company has achieved a remarkable 267% increase in global Bitcoin mining capacity since the start of the year, reaching over 22 Exahash per second.

This growth is largely attributed to HIVE's dual-engine approach, which combines traditional cryptocurrency mining with AI computing capabilities. The company is actively converting its Swedish data center into an AI computing facility, with plans to support 2,000 NVIDIA GPUs and reduce construction time from three years to just nine months.

In addition to the Swedish expansion, HIVE is also quadrupling its IT capacity in Canada, with a goal of operating approximately 6,000 GPUs by 2026. This strategic shift leverages HIVE's renewable-powered mining infrastructure to create a scalable AI computing platform.
