Ledger Co-Founder Warns $1m Bitcoin May Signal Fiat Stress
Ledger co-founder Eric Larchevêque recently commented on the possibility of Bitcoin reaching $1 million or even $10 million. He stated that such a future may not be a healthy one, framing it as a stress signal rather than just another bullish market price target.
Larchevêque emphasized that Bitcoin becomes more important when trust in banks, currencies, and governments weakens, describing it as a final settlement asset and tool for wealth protection. He noted that people value direct ownership most when access to money becomes uncertain, which is why Bitcoin matters more in times of crisis.
The co-founder's comments added weight to the crypto custody debate, highlighting the different meanings that Bitcoin carries for people in different regions with varying levels of risk. Larchevêque also mentioned that a high Bitcoin price may reflect fear as much as demand, linking it to stress in the global money system.
