Pudgy Penguins Browser Game Phishing Scam Targets Cryptocurrency Wallets
A new threat has emerged in the world of cryptocurrencies as scammers target users of Pudgy Penguins' newly launched browser game.
The fake website, which closely resembles the real game, is designed to trick users into entering their wallet passwords. By mimicking the authentic crypto wallet interfaces, the phishing operation aims to deceive even the most cautious players.
Malwarebytes Labs warned that the campaign appears deliberate and coincides with the game's launch on March 10. The timing suggests that scammers are taking advantage of the influx of new users unfamiliar with crypto wallet security practices.
The fake website, pudgypengu-gamegifts.live, targets a range of wallets, including Ethereum, Solana, and multi-chain assets. Users are advised to access official sites only through trusted bookmarks, avoid clicking links from social media or direct messages, and remember that legitimate wallet password prompts do not appear inside webpage content.
