FBI Warns OneCoin Scam Victims: Claim Compensation by June 30, 2026 Deadline

The FBI has issued a warning to victims of the OneCoin cryptocurrency scam, urging them to apply for government compensation before the deadline. According to the Department of Justice, more than $40 million in forfeited assets is still available for remission.

OneCoin, launched by Ruja Ignatova and Karl Sebastian Greenwood in 2014, drew investors globally, resulting in over $4 billion in losses. Greenwood was sentenced to 20 years in prison in September 2023, while Ignatova remains on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list.

The Department of Justice launched the remission claims process on April 13, and eligible investors can file petitions online, by mail, or by email via onecoinremission.com, the only authorized portal. Victims are encouraged to apply for compensation before the June 30, 2026 deadline.
