Uphold Expands Platform with 4,000+ Stocks and ETFs
Uphold has expanded its platform to include over 4,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, allowing customers to buy equities directly from their cryptocurrency holdings.
This one-step process eliminates the need for users to transfer funds between stablecoins or cash balances, making it easier for investors to diversify their portfolios.
Nancy Beaton, president of Uphold U.S., said 'People want one app for all of their investing, crypto included.'
The company's 'Equities on Uphold' feature allows customers to sell supported cryptocurrencies and buy stocks without leaving the app. For example, a user can sell Bitcoin to buy Berkshire Hathaway shares in a single step.
This move is part of a broader trend among crypto companies to combine digital assets and traditional investing under one roof. Coinbase and Gemini have also launched similar features, aiming to make it easier for investors to manage their portfolios from a single platform.
