Turtle Abandons LayerZero in Favor of Chainlink's CCIP
Turtle, a leading decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol, has made a significant change in its infrastructure by abandoning LayerZero in favor of Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP). This decision follows a similar move by Solv Protocol, which migrated over $700 million in tokenized bitcoin from LayerZero to CCIP. The shift aims to improve security and stability in liquidity distribution.
According to reports, Turtle has managed a remarkable flow of over $5.5 billion in transactions within its first 18 months post-launch. The platform boasts a wide range of features, including stablecoins, superset, and layer zero technology. However, the decision to switch from LayerZero is likely driven by concerns about security and operational efficiency.
The migration is part of a broader trend as other protocols also explore alternatives to LayerZero. This shift in focus highlights the evolving landscape of DeFi infrastructure, with Chainlink's CCIP emerging as a promising solution for improved interoperability and security. As the DeFi ecosystem continues to grow, such innovations are likely to play a crucial role in shaping its future.
