Kraken Unleashes Regulated Perpetual Futures Trading in the US

Kraken has expanded its US crypto derivatives offering by launching regulated perpetual futures trading on Kraken Pro. The new product allows eligible US traders to trade perpetual contracts on major cryptocurrencies, which have no time limit and can be traded over the long term.

The launch follows Kraken's acquisition of Bitnomial in May, a licensed exchange and clearing platform that provides the infrastructure needed for the new offering. Perpetual contracts are listed through Bitnomial and cleared through Kraken Derivatives US, which operates under NinjaTrader Clearing, a registered Futures Commission Merchant.

The service allows traders to access perpetual futures tied to BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, ADA, LINK, DOGE, LTC, and AVAX. Funding payments occur every eight hours, helping keep perpetual futures prices aligned with the underlying spot market by balancing long and short positions.
