Vanguard Hires Digital Assets Strategist Amid Cautious Crypto Market

Vanguard, the world's second-largest asset manager, has posted a job opening for a Head of Digital Assets, Personal Wealth role. The position requires leading digital assets strategy and building a multi-year roadmap to run enterprise execution across Vanguard's wealth business.

The firm currently oversees about $12 trillion in assets and serves over 50 million investors. Two years ago, Vanguard refused to list spot Bitcoin ETFs and pulled Bitcoin futures products from its brokerage platform after the SEC approved the category. However, the company later opened brokerage access to select third-party crypto ETFs and mutual funds.

The job posting highlights custody, settlement, tokenization, and stablecoins as key areas for evaluation. The successful candidate will also be responsible for designing operating models for onboarding, custody, settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and third-party integration.
