Bond's Trial Over FTX-Linked Campaign Finance Charges Set for November

Michelle Bond's bid to dismiss campaign finance charges has been rejected by a federal judge. The trial is now set to begin on November 9. Prosecutors allege that Bond and her husband, Ryan Salame, used about $400,000 in FTX funds to illegally finance her 2022 congressional campaign.

Bond's lawyers argued that the prosecution had broken an agreement allegedly made during Salame's plea negotiations by later bringing charges against her. However, Judge George Daniels rejected this argument, allowing the prosecution to proceed towards trial.

The case remains one of the last criminal proceedings connected to the collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, which entered bankruptcy in 2022.
