Ripple's RLUSD Stablecoin Sees Sudden Decline in Supply
Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has experienced a substantial decline in supply over the past few weeks, leaving many to wonder about the reasons behind this trend. According to data from the Ripple Stablecoin Tracker, millions of tokens have been removed from circulation on both the Ethereum and XRP Ledger networks.
On March 26, a significant burn of RLUSD occurred, with 35 million tokens being removed from the market within a short timeframe. This was followed by several smaller burns, including 2.9 million and 1.9 million RLUSD tokens.
The reduction in supply has sparked debate among crypto enthusiasts, with some speculating that it may be a sign of healthy liquidity management or something more complex. Prominent crypto lawyer Bill Morgan recently noted the trend on X, asking whether this is simply a routine process or something more noteworthy.
