Toncoin's Blockchain Evolution: Telegram Takes Lead as Largest Validator
Toncoin, a cryptocurrency built on Telegram's blockchain, has seen significant improvements in its on-chain metrics following a strategic shift in its development. Telegram, the parent company of Toncoin, has taken over as the largest validator for the network.
This move is part of a broader strategy to improve Toncoin's performance and adoption. Recently, the CEO of Telegram announced a 6-fold reduction in transaction fees, aiming to increase on-chain activity. The results are promising, with Toncoin recording its strongest monthly transaction volume in April at around 67 million.
Moreover, staking participation has increased, with a significant spike in net staking inflows of $191.83 million. This influx of capital into staking is the largest seen in nearly four months, according to Token Terminal data.
