Roubini Backs Regulated Digital Asset USAfi Launch in Dubai

Nouriel Roubini, the economist known for his sharp criticism of cryptocurrencies, is now supporting digital assets through Atlas Capital Team's USAFi project. The token will be launched in Q3 2026 under Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) framework as a regulated permissionless security.

USAfi is backed by the Atlas America Fund, an SEC-registered ETF listed on Nasdaq, which holds reserve assets custodied at the Bank of New York. This structure aims to bring institutional-grade collateral into decentralized finance while maintaining 24/7 portability and onchain access.

Roubini comments that VARA has developed a framework that balances responsible innovation with transparency and investor protection required by institutional markets.
