WBTC Network Activity Hits Record Low Amid Broader Market Weakness
The recent data from CryptoQuant reveals that the Wrapped BTC (WBTC) network has experienced a substantial decline in activity, reaching its lowest level since January 2026.
According to the 7-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) of WBTC Active Addresses, there has been a significant contraction in decentralized finance (DeFi) participation. This indicates that investors are no longer actively transferring WBTC to generate yield, provide liquidity, or use it as collateral.
The drop in active addresses suggests a severe decline in capital velocity and mirrors the structural weakness currently seen across major centralized exchanges. The recent exchange data shows heavy BTC spot selling pressure (via massive Binance inflows) coupled with severe negative Stablecoin netflows.
