The Open Network (TON) has made a significant breakthrough in its development, implementing Catchain 2.0 and achieving block times of just 400 milliseconds. This major upgrade enables faster payment transactions, allowing users to settle trades in real-time and complete payment transactions in approximately one second.
One of the key benefits of Catchain 2.0 is its ability to strengthen staking incentives by increasing validator rewards. Although the annual inflation rate will rise from 0.6% to 3.6%, this is expected to make staking APY more attractive for long-term holders, creating opportunities for growth.
The update also brings significant improvements in transaction capacity, with thousands of transactions per second (TPS) now possible. This is a notable achievement for TON, setting it apart from other blockchain networks and potentially opening up new possibilities for decentralized applications (dApps).
