UXLINK Hacker Converts $10.5M in DAI to ETH, Routes Funds Through Tornado Cash

The hacker behind the recent UXLINK exploit has taken another step in laundering the stolen funds. According to on-chain analytics firm Onchain Lens, the attacker converted 10.54 million DAI into 6,001 ETH at an average price of $1,757 per coin.

The conversion was done in a single transaction and immediately routed the funds into Tornado Cash, a decentralized privacy protocol. This move complicates recovery efforts, highlighting the security risks in DeFi and cross-chain infrastructure.

The use of Tornado Cash raises concerns about regulatory frameworks around cryptocurrency mixers, particularly following sanctions placed on the service by the U.S. Treasury Department in 2022. The hacker's decision to employ this particular service indicates a calculated effort to evade law enforcement tracking.
