Ripple's CEO Sees Crypto Industry at a Turning Point Ahead of Swell

Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse says that the crypto industry is at a crucial turning point ahead of its annual Swell event in October. The 10th anniversary of Swell will coincide with real scale, institutional adoption, and the first time Swell and Apex will be held together this autumn, according to Garlinghouse.

The event, to be held in New York, is expected to draw attention for its speaker lineup, which includes Hollywood actor Matt Damon. Damon will introduce how non-profit Water.org uses Ripple Payments and the U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD. Tom Farley, chairman and CEO of crypto exchange Bullish, will also take part.

Garlinghouse emphasized that now is a truly important moment for the industry, citing the convergence of key factors. 'I've been in crypto long enough to know when a moment is real,' he said. This is one of them.'
