Bitcoin ETF Investors Rein in Exposure Amid Rising Bitcoin Prices
Bitcoin ETF investors have been displaying caution as Invesco's Galaxy Bitcoin ETF, BTCO, experienced a notable outflow of $4.94 million on May 1. This represents approximately 0.94% of its total assets under management, valued at $524.67 million.
The withdrawal comes amid the fund's underlying asset, BTC-USD, experiencing a price surge of 26.24% over the past three months, with it currently trading at $80,560.01.
This divergence between ETF flows and spot bitcoin performance indicates a shift towards more tactical positioning among institutional and retail investors. As bitcoin trades near elevated levels, some investors may be trimming their exposure in wrappers like Invesco's fund while retaining direct holdings or rotating to other risk assets.
