T. Rowe Price Files Proposal for Actively Managed Crypto ETF
T. Rowe Price, a financial institution with $1.8 trillion in assets under management, has filed a proposal with the SEC to launch an actively managed crypto exchange-traded fund (ETF). The proposed fund will hold a diversified portfolio of 5-15 digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP, Cardano, and other altcoins.
The fund's active management strategy will employ quantitative models to select and adjust the holdings, in contrast to earlier crypto ETFs focused solely on Bitcoin. The proposed fund will partner with Anchorage Digital Bank for custody to provide secure storage of the digital assets.
The filing also indicates potential future participation in crypto staking to generate additional income. If approved by the SEC, the fund could launch and become available to investors, potentially driving further mainstream adoption of digital assets.
