Jaredfromsubway.eth, a prominent Ethereum MEV bot, suffered a significant loss of $7.5 million due to an attacker exploiting its router contract vulnerability.

The attack was carried out by creating custom smart contracts designed to lure the bot into executing unprofitable sandwich transactions. The bot's automated playbook engaged with what appeared to be normal trade flow, but in reality, it was a transaction approval trap that bled funds.

Blockaid's analysis revealed that this was not a lucky guess, but rather an attacker who knew exactly how the router contract worked and where its soft spots were. The incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with automated trading systems and the importance of robust security measures in DeFi platforms.
