Bitcoin Price Plummets 17% as Spot ETF Outflows Reach Record Levels
Bitcoin's price has taken a hit in recent days, falling by 17% in the past week to below $60,000. This decline comes as spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen a record withdrawal streak of 13 consecutive trading sessions.
The outflows from the ETFs totaled 59,351 Bitcoins worth over $4.3 billion, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust driving much of the selling pressure. This is the longest withdrawal streak since the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 and has raised concerns about institutional demand.
The decline has also led to a shift in sentiment among investors, with many now wondering if this is a temporary 'sentiment shock' or the start of a deeper correction. The continued outflows from ETFs are adding pressure to the broader crypto market, making it a critical time for investors to monitor the situation closely.
