SpaceX Surpasses Market Estimates with $1.45B Bitcoin Stash
SpaceX's S-1 filing has revealed a significant surprise for the cryptocurrency market. According to the document, the company holds 18,712 Bitcoin valued at approximately $1.45 billion as of March 31. This figure is notably higher than estimates from tracking firms, which had pegged SpaceX's holdings at around 8,285 Bitcoin.
The disclosure has placed SpaceX seventh among publicly listed companies by Bitcoin holdings, with the company set to surpass several well-known names in the corporate Bitcoin space once it completes its IPO. The listing would push SpaceX ahead of Tesla, which holds 11,509 Bitcoin. Both companies began buying Bitcoin around the same time in early 2021.
The IPO itself carries impressive numbers, with SpaceX aiming to raise around $75 billion and an estimated company valuation ranging from $1.75 trillion to $2 trillion. If achieved, it would rank as the largest public offering in capital markets history. The company is targeting what it described as the largest addressable market in human history – a $28.5 trillion opportunity spanning artificial intelligence, space exploration, and global connectivity.
