A new draft of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act is expected to be released this week, combining previous versions from the Senate Banking and Agriculture committees in an effort to streamline the legislative process.

The bill aims to establish regulatory rules for the cryptocurrency sector before the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, but it still faces significant hurdles that could delay or prevent it from moving to a full Senate floor vote.

The updated draft is expected to be significantly larger, adding roughly 70 pages to the previous text, and reportedly lacks an ethics provision and has yet to resolve other major points of disagreement.
