Revolut Delists USDT Amid Regulatory Pressure

Revolut, a UK-headquartered fintech firm, has announced plans to delist the Tether USDT stablecoin by August 31, 2026. The decision is attributed to 'regulatory and risk considerations', according to a customer notice reviewed by Cointelegraph.

The removal of USDT support will be phased: users can no longer buy USDT from July 6, deposits stop after July 30, and any remaining balances will be automatically converted to the user's base currency on August 31. Revolut holds a MiCA license as a crypto asset service provider (CASP), granted by CySEC in November 2025.

Revolut's move follows a broader trend among European crypto service providers adjusting their product offerings in response to the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regime. Tether, the issuer of USDT, has refused to comply with MiCA requirements, citing issues with reserve-related rules and its stance on the legislation.
