Ripple Secures Key EU License for Crypto Payments Infrastructure

Ripple has secured preliminary approval for a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from Luxembourg's Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation (MiCA).

The CASP license, combined with its existing Electronic Institution license, will allow European banks, fintechs, and corporates to access Ripple's cryptoasset and stablecoin payments infrastructure through a single integration.

Ripple plans to scale services across all 30 EEA countries with this approval. 'Financial market infrastructure is moving onchain, from cross-border payments and settlement to collateral management and tokenised assets,' said Cassie Craddock, Managing Director, UK & Europe at Ripple.
