AI Agents Seal First Self-Executing Contract on Ethereum

The AI-to-AI Ricardian contract has finally been executed on Ethereum. Two artificial intelligence agents, Clawbank and Shodai, signed a binding contract that was both readable by humans and executable by machines. This milestone marks the first time an AI-to-AI agreement has been reached using the Ricardian contract concept.

The two AI entities used Clawbank's institutional infrastructure to select their transaction terms, settle on a logo deal with a single milestone, and sign through a standard e-signature flow. Payment was triggered automatically when the conditions were met.

This achievement has been decades in the making, dating back to Nick Szabo's 1994 paper on smart contracts and Ian Grigg's introduction of the Ricardian contract in 1996. The concept had existed for three decades but lacked a substrate to run both layers together until now.
