Pump.fun Offers $5 Million CLO Position Amid High-Stakes Litigation

Pump.fun, a leading meme coin launchpad on Solana, is seeking a Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to join its team. The role comes with a base salary of $5 million, making it one of the highest-paid legal positions in the crypto industry.

The platform has generated over $500 million in profit last year with fewer than 100 people on staff. However, it is now facing a high-stakes class-action lawsuit and federal racketeering charges, which have added to its regulatory scrutiny across three continents.

Co-founder Alon Cohen posted the job opening on X, stating that the incoming CLO will inherit all of these challenges at once, with litigation, regulation, and public scrutiny running in parallel. The $5 million base salary reflects what it now costs to build a legal strategy at a platform that regulators across multiple jurisdictions are watching closely.
